Deep Creek Farmstead spans 7 of the 45 acres that were purchased by Lilian Meyers and her then husband, Edward in 1942, and loved by their family for 80 years until their remaining daughter Leslie finally retired from the farm and sold the land in 2022.

We are Summer and Patrick Triato, owners of SE Portland event venue Union Pine and Nob Hill’s Bar West, and when we saw the listing for the creekside wood-clad ranch house, we knew immediately that this was The Place we’d been looking for together for over a decade.

When we bought it, the sprawling property had fields prime for ceremonies and movie nights, an old steel greenhouse perfect for a farm-to-table dinner, a big old barn begging to become an all-season dining and dance hall, and a dozen outbuildings perfect for photo ops and future farm life. Surrounding it all was thoughtful and abundant vegetation that would make the most wonderful setting for every wedding, retreat, and dream vacation we’d ever envisioned. It all comes together in a way that feels very ‘McMenamins’, but on a scale that is meant for more intimate and special gatherings.

As for the 5000 sf wood home, it was built primarily with reclaimed materials over a period of 40 years, and was never finished, leaving plywood floors, open walls, and exposed plumbing and electrical. Though this scared off many potential buyers, for us it meant we would be able to pick up where Leslie left off, with the freedom to design the space and finishes ourselves. It was to be a major undertaking - certainly our biggest yet, and our first with two young children… but felt in our bones that we could do it, and that we were meant to.

We jumped right in with the restoration of the main pond and natural spring, followed by extensive trail cutting, brush clearing, blackberry killing, and repairs on the dilapidated outbuildings. When the work moved indoors, we added the home’s first interior stairwell and built bedrooms into the open second floor shell, and built a custom cedar sauna.

We are now in our second year on Airbnb, with a string of 100% FIVE STAR reviews! and we are busily booking retreats, events, and weddings for 2025 and beyond.

Of special note, 32 of the Meyers’ acres that border our property are now owned by Metro Parks, who manage 17,000 acres across the Portland metropolitan region, where they are working to protect natural areas, improve water quality, and restore wildlife habitat. We’re delighted to be a part of this effort, and look forward to sharing this incredible place with others who share in our love of this beautiful place.
